The iPod is one of the best selling portable music players of all time, and those sales numbers are only going to increase with the new iPod Nano, which brings video down to the Nano product lineup. In this brief tutorial, I will show you how you can easily make your own iPod Nano in Photoshop for use on your website, blog, etc.

To begin, we’ll make a 500×500 px document with a black background:

Now let’s use the Rounded Rectangle tool with the Radius set to 15px and the fill set to light blue, like this:

Now, to give the iPod it’s 3-D look, we’ll use this Bevel and Emboss setting:

Next up, we’ll create the screen background using the Rectangle Shape tool, and we’ll use a dark turquoise for the fill:

The screen will be a bit smaller and white. We’ll also add a small Ellipse for the play controls:

We’ll create a second ellipse inside the white ellipse, this one with a light bluish/green fill that matches the rest of the body of the iPod. I used the pencil tool to write and draw the play, fast forward, rewind, and menu buttons:

Finally, we simply need an image on our screen:

That’s all there is to it. Easy as pie!
